Main ContactCharles 'Buck' KrasicQStream's main developer is Charles 'Buck' Krasic. Buck started writing QStream while he was a Ph.D student, working in the SySL group at the OGI/OHSU Department of Computer Science and Engineering. Buck is now a faculty member in the Department of Computer Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC) with the Distributed Systems Group. QStream development is active at UBC. It also continues in Oregon (now at PSU) and there is also some activity at University of Toronto. The qstream.org site and QStream source code repository are hosted at UBC. Inquiries about QStream should be directed to Buck at UBC. Collaborators and Major ContributorsJonathan WalpoleBuck's Ph.d research was supervised by Jonathan Walpole. Jon has been leading research into media streaming for over a decade, and is a pioneer in the field. The QStream software is the successor to several previous media streaming systems developed at by Jon and his team at OGI. Recently, the SySL group have moved from OGI/OHSU to the Computer Science department at Portland State University (PSU). At PSU, Jon and others have started a project called Extreme Video. The Extreme Video team continue active work on QStream. Jie HuangAs part of her Ph.D research, Jie Huang developed the live streaming support in QStream. She is also a member of the Extreme Video project at PSU. Ashvin GoelAshvin is another former member of SySL, and is now a faculty member at the University of Toronto. Ashvin is the main developer of GScope, which is used extensively by QStream. He also has made contributions to several other components of QStream, including GAIO and MxTraf. Ashvin has some student projects ongoing at the University of Toronto that are using QStream. Other ContributorsMany others, faculty, staff and students have contributed to QStream. The AUTHORS file in the source code distribution contains a (hopefully) complete list. |
